Traffic Controller

This course combines the theory and practical skills required by Traffic Control workers.

Upon successful completion of your training and assessment you will meet industry requirements for working as a traffic controller, in a temporary traffic management context.

In the real world, you will have significantly enhanced job options if you gain both your Traffic Controller and Traffic Management Implementer qualifications.

Traffic Controllers are not permitted to perform key tasks such as implementing traffic management plans (e.g. layout temporary traffic control signs), or setup portable traffic control devices such as traffic lights.

Traffic Management Implementers are not permitted to control traffic on a worksite.

Traffic Management Designer

This course combines skills and knowledge required to perform a preliminary risk assessment of a temporary traffic management site and select, modify and design traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes in civil construction.

It applies to those working in management roles. They generally work in teams and have some responsibility for the outcomes of others.

Upon successful completion of your training and assessment you will meet industry requirements for developing traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes

Skills developed by learners include:

  • Preparing traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes

  • Carry out risk management processes

Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. White Card National Code CPCWHS1001

This training meets the requirements of the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. Successful students will demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. Training covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

It is a mandatory requirement to successfully complete WHS training prior to undertaking construction work - including traffic control workers

Please note: the white card becomes void if you haven't carried out construction work for two consecutive years or more.
